Warthas’s research stay

The Lions Scholarship enabled Eva-Maria Wartha to participate in the "European Combustion Meeting," the "Understanding and Predicting Hydrogen Combustion Workshop," and the "Programming in OpenFOAM" course. The programming course, held by the developers of OpenFOAM, provided deep insights into the fundamental concepts of the simulation program. This enables future developments to be integrated into the program more effectively and efficiently.

During the Hydrogen Combustion Workshop, the latest highlights about hydrogen from industry and research were presented on one hand. On the other hand, the major challenges regarding CFD modeling were discussed, and potential solutions were presented. Eva-Maria Wartha had the opportunity to network with young researchers from all over Europe and reconnect with familiar colleagues from her stay in Norway.

At the latest conference, the European Combustion Meeting in Rouen, Eva-Maria Wartha was able to present the extended work from her international stay in Norway. The used approaches in the field of turbulent particle combustion were presented using a poster and discussed with scientists from Europe. The conference also provided an opportunity to reunite with the entire Combustion Kinetics Group (https://www.ntnu.edu/comkin/, opens an external URL in a new window) from NTNU in Trondheim.
