Development of conservation and preservation strategies

An essential aspect of the long-term preservation of original photographs, electrotypes and photomechanical prints is the development of preventing strategies. The analytical studies carried out on these very special individual objects and collections are intended to provide the basis for further conservation considerations. This approach consists of indirect measures to slow down decay and prevent damage by creating optimal conditions for their preservation. Furthermore, preventive conservation standards for the correct handling and use, transport, storage and presentation of cultural objects must be included.
