Research co-operations with USTEM
Electron microscopy is needed for numerous research agendas. USTEM is happy to be available as a research partner to help solve the urgent questions of our time. Such a partnership can be within the framework of ERC-, FWF-, FFG- or any other research co-operation. USTEM also assists any unfunded research of TU academic institutions.
Additionally USTEM offers help for he application of third-party funded projects by giving detailed cost estimates.
Our research co-operations at a glance:
The FCC Project is the design study of the Future Circular Collider at CERN. USTEM participates at the characterization of novel superconductors.
In the framework of EASITrain, young researchers are educated for many different needs of a future collider at CERN.
During the FWF, opens an external URL in a new window funded project of Uni Wien, contaminates of Arsen mining from Balkan countries are investigated. The scale bars of these investigations reach from km down to nm.
The PL2N A Project deals with fundamental contexts of Multi Principal Element Alloys (MPEAs) in the regime of low density materials(< 6,0 g/cm³).
Tribology is a large scientific area within materials science and deals with abrasion and hardness and its consequences on the materials properties.
USTEM is intensively connected to the Institute for Materials Chemistry with some projects on catalysis.Especially interesting are bi-metallic surfaces and nano-particles. Many different analytical methods are combined for a sound picture of these processes on the nm-scale.
Catalysis is used for reducing the energy consumption of future generations for a better environment. The Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB) der TU Wien was dealing with improved catalytic reactions.
