In the research unit of materials technology, we deal with the production, processing and characterization of metallic materials, with a focus on steel, aluminum and nickel-based alloys, as well as selected research topics from the fields of magnesium, titanium and the electronics industry.

The basis of our research is the modeling and simulation of material behavior, where we develop and apply models and software to describe and predict material behavior during thermal and thermo-mechanical treatment. In connection with the most modern experimental methods, which are often carried out in external cooperation with research partners, we try to comprehensively understand and describe the behavior of materials.
