Learn, memorise, perform. This is how work works. But work is becoming increasingly complex. For this reason, entering the labour market is often a major challenge for people with disabilities.

The aim of A2I (Assist to Include, funded by Digifonds der AK Wien) is the inclusion of people with disabilities in complex work processes through the use of assistive technologies. The project focusses on the use of Spatial Augmented Reality (SAR) to reduce this complexity. By providing visual information using SAR, work information can be communicated directly during the work process, thus reducing the cognitive load when learning the work steps.

The project centres on the involvement of end users in order to create a fundamental understanding of the actual effect of assistance. Using qualitative and quantitative studies, the research project aims to measure and optimise the visual learning process and eliminate cognitive barriers in work processes. The results of the project provide a first-time basis for inclusion by means of technology support for all inclusive companies and industry.
