Maximilian Ell studied Bioengineering (2013–2020 MSc) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.

Since 2021 he works as a university assistant at the Research Unit Biomedical Electronics and Systems of the Institute of Biomedical Electronics at TU Wien. His research focuses on the noise analysis of cell adhesion to electrically image cellular behavior like changes in cell morphology, cellular signaling or proliferation kinetics.

Interfacing cancer cells with microelectrodes enables him to investigate on how cancer metastasis is derived from solid tumors using electrical imaging.
