Info

Toni Bakovic is a Ph.D candidate and project assistant within the Institute of Materials Technology, Building Physics and Construction Ecology research group at TU Wien, mainly working on the “BasaltClayCrete” project. His current academic pursuits revolve around the innovative application of basalt-fiber reinforced clays as advanced building materials, with a specials emphasis on studying their rheological behaviour. Toni’s motivation is driven by the desire to explore alternative building materials with a notably low environmental impact, or to at least mitigate the impact of existing materials, without any major compromises regarding the performance of the material. Prior to his academic journey at TU Wien he gained industry experience in a research department for two years, where he specialized in supplementary cementitious materials, particularly in using calcined clays. He completed his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in technical chemistry from the Vienna University of Technology.
