In order to expand cooperation between faculties, this semester’s courses and bachelor theses by civil engineering students are exploring timber construction in partnership with architecture students. Topics will include structural engineering, hybrid construction involving concrete and timber, circularity, the development of prototypes for two-dimensional node connections, and further design aspects.

The collaboration between the two disciplines is inseparable in practice. These courses aim to provide students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the language and thought process from an architectural or civil engineering complementary perspective.
