As part of the ‘Understanding Mobility Demand 2025’ networking workshop, organised by AustriaTech at the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI), numerous projects presented their research results and exchanged ideas on databases and methodological approaches.

The MultiMoFusion project was also represented. Florian Pühringer and Florian Lammer (Graz University of Technology) presented the current progress of the project. MultiMoFusion aims to merge Floating Phone Data (FPD) and Smartphone-Assisted Self-Interview (SMASI) data to provide a more accurate picture of mobility demand. Synchronous data collection within the framework of the aspern Seestadt mobility panel forms the basis for this.

The next steps are to apply the merged datasets in the ‘POI attractiveness’ and ‘mobility monitoring in the neighbourhood’ use cases. These applications are intended to demonstrate how data synergies can contribute to a better understanding of, and more targeted control over, mobility services.
