Jonas Wiel

Jonas Wiel studied Urban and Regional Planning with a focus on Urban Design at BTU Cottbus for his Bachelor's degree, where he graduated in 2015. In 2017, he started the Master's program in Advanced Urbanism at Bauhaus University Weimar and in 2018 he transferred to an Urban Design program at TU Berlin in collaboration with Tongji University Shanghai, where he graduated in 2019 with a thesis on social housing in Shanghai. Between his bachelor's and master's degrees, Wiel gained international professional experience in the field of urban design and urban planning in various offices as well as freelancing while participating in competitions. In 2020, he moved to Vienna and founded a project to digitize site research and analysis. Since May 2023 he supports the IFOER team in research and teaching.
