New university professor at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Francesca Taddei

Francesca Taddei is university professor of structural mechanics and structural dynamics at the Institute of Structural Engineering since 16 June 2025.

Francesca studied Civil Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Perugia, opens an external URL in a new window, graduating in 2010 with a degree in Structural Engineering. She then began her doctoral studies at the Chair of Structural Analysis and Structural Dynamics at RWTH Aachen University, opens an external URL in a new window, graduating with distinction in 2015. As a research assistant, Francesca Taddei was involved in several research projects, including as project manager in the DFG, opens an external URL in a new window-funded project ‘Complex Soil-Structure Interaction Issues’ and as part of the 6th Energy Research Programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in the project ‘Investigation of the Effects of Soil-Structure-Drive-Train Interaction on the Design of Onshore Wind Turbines’. As a postdoctoral research fellow, Francesca Taddei was involved in teaching, research and third-party funding acquisition in the field of structural and building dynamics at the Technical University of Munich, opens an external URL in a new window from May 2015 onwards. Since June, Prof. Taddei is employed at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Research Unit Mechanics and Structural Dynamics.

Francesca Taddei's research focuses on dynamic interactions and seismic responses in relation to soil and buildings, among other topics. Publications by Prof. Taddei can be found in the Scopus, opens an external URL in a new window database.
