A short review of the workshop "PoWER2025"

From July 2nd to July 4th, the simulation of wave propagation problems was the focus of a workshop at TU Wien.

The Workshop "PoWER2025: Propagation of Waves, European Researchers" took place at TU Wien from 2 July to 4 July, bringing together mathematicians and engineers interested in the simulation of wave propagation problems.

The workshop featured talks by 20 invited international speakers and 3 local speakers, reporting about recent results on various topics ranging from space-time methods, Trefftz and plane-wave methods, fast solvers, propagations of waves in dispersive media and in spatio-temporal materials (i.e., materials whose properties change both in space and time).

Additional engaging talks provided insights into applications to biomedicine, for example with the description of a data-driven modeling framework aimed at better understanding key processes underlying neurodegeneration in the human brain.

This event was supported by TU Wien, the University of Vienna, the Vienna Center for Partial Differential Equations, and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
