This year's event was organized by Lothar BANZ and Andreas SCHRÖDER and hosted at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. The conference was characterized by an excellent organization and the impressive location offered a picturesque view over the city of Salzburg.

The Vienna University of Technology was represented by 19 participants, six of whom presented their current research results in talks. The focus of the conference was on the analysis and development of efficient numerical methods for partial differential equations, in particular adaptive, structure- and property-preserving discretization methods. The areas of application covered included fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, electrical machines and stochastic and time-dependent problems.

The scientific program was rounded off by numerous opportunities for informal discussions - for example during the coffee breaks and over the conference dinner.
