We invite you to the Security & Defence Research Day on Nov. 25, 2025 at TUtheSky | TU Wien!

Join us for information on funding opportunities (KIRAS, FORTE, Horizon Europe, EDF), networking, exchange, and collaboration opportunities, and to explore how your expertise contributes to societal resilience and security.

About this event

This event brings together TU Wien-researchers from across disciplines who are active - or potentially active - in the fields of security, defence, and disaster research. Many research activities at TU Wien contribute to these areas in unexpected ways - whether through technology, infrastructure, data science, resilience, human factors, or beyond.

If your work touches on topics such as:

  • Critical infrastructure protection
  • Risk assessment and crisis management
  • Cybersecurity
  • Resilient systems and technologies
  • Climate change related disasters
  • Emergency response and disaster mitigation
  • Civil protection
  • Defense technologies
  • Dual-use technologies

… then this event is for you - even if you may not have considered your work as part of disaster, security, or defence research before.
