The International Vienna Motor Symposium is one of the world's leading conferences for Powertrains and Automotive Technology. Professor Hans-Peter Lenz, the then Chair of the Institute for Internal Combustion Engines and Automotive Engineering at TU Wien and Chair of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers, established the symposium in 1979 and has continued to lead it successfully alongside Professor Bernhard Geringer since that time.

For decades, the international motor industry has gathered at the Vienna Motor Symposium. At the two-day event, the automobile technology industry’s leading experts showcase the latest developments and outcomes of research projects. This top-level programme of lectures is accompanied by a specialist exhibition at which the leading automobile companies and suppliers demonstrate cutting-edge technology and developments. The event is rounded off by an extensive cultural programme for participants and their guests.

The Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK) organises the annual International Vienna Motor Symposium. Sponsoring a room allows the ÖVK to promote the International Vienna Motor Symposium and thereby raise its profile among teaching staff and students.

The International Vienna Motor Symposium lecture theatre is located on the Getreidemarkt campus and seats 80.
