Job vacancy: University Assistant (Post-Doc)

At the Institute of Spatial Planning, in the research area of Urban and Regional Research, there is an immediate vacancy for a University Assistant Post-Doc (20 hours per week, limited to probably 4 years) to strengthen the research focus on "Financialisation and/or Housing".

Your tasks:

  • Research activities in the field and interest in the independent development of research topics
  • Independent performance of teaching and cooperation in examinations
  • Project work and leadership of project groups, including the development and implementation of the research strategy (methodology, concepts, realization and evaluation)
  • Participation in project proposals
  • Publication activity
  • Participation and organization of scientific events
  • Supervision of students
  • Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your profile:

  • Completion or completed defense of a suitable doctoral degree (geography, spatial planning, urban studies)
  • strong interest in financialization processes and/or in-depth knowledge of housing markets and policies with the goal of enabling affordable housing
  • experience in project management and with presentations
  • Interest in working in an international context
  • Interdisciplinary work and problem solving skills
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities
  • Interest and enjoyment in research and working with students
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Ability to work and write scientifically in English

Remuneration is based on the minimum salary of salary group B1 according to the collective agreement for university employees and currently amounts to EUR 2,176.00 gross/month (14 times per year) for a weekly workload of 20 hours. Previous periods of service related to the job can be taken into account.
