Florian Zischka wins the Poster Prize at the 2nd Indo-European Symposium on Surface Engineering in Indien!

Florian Zischka and the Poster Prize

Florian Zischka, who wrote his master's thesis on the biomimetics of multifunctional butterfly wing structures with Ille C. Gebeshuber, won first prize for the best poster at the 2nd Indo-European Symposium on Surface Engineering IESSE-2024. The congress took place on 11th and 12th December 2024 at the Birla Institute of Technology BIT Mesra, Ranchi in the state of Jharkand in India.

Florian's poster was entitled ‘Butterfly Wing Scales as Inspiration for Multifunctional Building Surfaces’ and is the result of an multidisciplinary collaboration: The authors Forian Zischka, Viola Kaser, Karin Whitmore, Rupert Kainradl, Harald Krenn, Sabine Gaal-Haszler and Ille C. Gebeshuber work at TU Wien, TU Graz, Schönbrunn Zoo, the University of Vienna and the Natural History Museum Vienna.
