PhD start

Our long-time group member Jakob Blaschke has now started his PhD degree in our group. After his Bachelor studies at the Technical University Vienna, he joined our group in 2019 for a short internship and then decided to perform his studies for his Master’s thesis in our group as well, where he worked on modifying titania photocatalysts with vanadium for water splitting.

For his PhD Jakob will work on material design for photoelectrochemical waste-water treatment under the guidance of Dr. Dogukan Apaydin. During his free time Jakob likes to spend time on the ice in winter or in the water during summer, however you might also find him tinkering with some electronics project throughout the year.

Welcome Jakob and we hope you enjoy your time in our group!
