New Publication “Baustelle Elektromobilität”

Andrea Stickler discusses current transformations of (auto)mobility in a newly published anthology

Book cover of the new publication

In the new anthology "Baustelle Elektromobilität" published by Transcript, Andrea Stickler puts social science perspectives on the transformation of (car) mobility up for discussion. The volume explores the question to what extent electric cars can be seen as a solution to central transport problems. It illustrates that a mere change in drive technologies falls short, as new social and ecological problems arise for raw materials policy and the global value chain. But also mobility concepts like car sharing, ridepooling or autonomous driving raise many questions and are linked to social conflicts. The authors, who come from various disciplines, deal with these highly topical developments and provide orientation in the debate on the transformation and future of (car) mobility.
