In the summer semester of 2024, 30 students of architecture, spatial planning, mechanical engineering and civil engineering worked together with an interdisciplinary team of lecturers to design the interactive exhibition wAy to Be on the topic of mobility. From 21 to 27 September 2024, pupils aged 12-14 were able to test out various stations in the Prechtlsaal at TU Wien and playfully and artistically explore topics relating to sustainability and climate change.

The creative educational format Cultural Collisions aims to combine art, science and education in one concept and give pupils a creative approach to science. TU Wien is cooperating with the Technical Museum (TMW), the Museum of Modern Art (mumok), the PH Wien and the KPH Wien/Krems. While the first cycle of the educational format focussed on cities and buildings and the second on energy, the third cycle was launched with an exhibition on the topic of mobility.

wAy to Be comprised four interactive ‘hands-on’ stations focusing on the topics of travel mobility, the transport routes of a smartphone, fair road space distribution and electromobility. The students developed an overarching exhibition design and storytelling for the content and station design. In addition, there was a bar where the students could refresh themselves and design tote bags with colours and stamps.

Following the exhibition at the TU Wien, the students are now continuing to work on the topic of mobility in an artistic way with their teachers.

The master's project Cultural Collision has been offered at the TU Wien with the participation of ifoer since 2022. More detailed information and further impressions can be found on the website.
