ORF press release: "Dok 1" has transformed the everyday life of a family in Bruck an der Leitha into a measuring station. Under the supervision of an expert from Energieberatung Niederösterreich, extensive tests are carried out: Cooking with or without a lid, washing clothes at 60 degrees or 30 degrees, the TV as a radio substitute. Using an electricity meter and calculations, the potential cost savings are determined. Will a four-person household manage to save 500 euros a year with the expert's tips? "Dok 1" also sheds light on the complicated and extremely controversial merit order system that is responsible for pricing on the electricity market. There are loud calls for it to be suspended. The energy crisis is also hitting small and medium-sized businesses hard: How are families preparing for the coming winter? And why are bakeries suffering particularly from rising energy prices?

The broadcast will be available on ORF TVthek until September 28, 2022: Dok 1: Energiesparen - der neue Volkssport? vom 21.09.2022 um 20:15 Uhr , opens an external URL in a new window
