Dr. Hans Vollmar was a resistance fighter at the University of Vienna and was shot by his superior when he tried to prevent the destruction of the Siemens supermicroscope (W.Nr. 24) at the University of Vienna in the last days of World War 2. Today, on the day of commemoration of the end of the 2nd World War, the honorary grave was inaugurated during a small ceremony in the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Mag. Gerhard Karner.
