China - Geographien einer Weltmacht

The new textbook China - China - Geographien einer Weltmacht, presented by Sina Hardaker and Peter Dannenberg at this year's Leipziger Buchmesse, includes a detailed chapter entitled "The Belt and Road Initiative - The New Silk Road from China to Duisburg". This was written by Franziska Sielker in collaboration with Peter Dannenberg and is dedicated in detail to the topic of the new Silk Road.

This chapter addresses the following questions, among others:

  • What goals and developments are part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)?
  • How is the BRI financed and implemented, and what other background factors need to be taken into account?
  • How does the Silk Road manifest itself in concrete terms using Duisburg as an example?
  • How can the development of the BRI to date be assessed?
