On the 3rd of December, 2019 about 35 United Nations delegates from many different countries and some UNIDO interns visited Bruck/Leitha to get a guided tour of Energiepark’s wind turbine and biogas plant.

The experts in the field of bioenergy came together because of a three day Expert Group Meeting, organized by the UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) with the title: “The Role of Bio-energy in Clean Transition in Developing Countries and Least Developing Countries”.

The goal of the meeting was to bring together these experts from all around the world to work out strategies to integrate bioenergy projects in developing countries.

Besides working together in the UNIDO offices, which are located in the Vienna International Centre, they decided on doing these plant visits to learn about the Energiepark’s process of building up its power plants and its general development which started in 1995.

The group was very interested in the tours and asked a lot of specific questions on the plants and facilities. One of the interns at UNIDO, who also took part in the tour, happened to be an alumni of the MSc program Renewable Energy Systems, which is organized by Energiepark together with the Technical University of Vienna.

The Energiepark team was very happy to welcome the guests and hopes they continued to have a very productive three days.
