Golang for Java developers

Workshop

Let's Go!

Golang is among some of the most popular languages when it comes to writing server applications. While Java definitely has its benefits when it comes to managing complex business logic, Golang shines when creating small microservices, infrastructure utilities, or low-level system tools. This workshop will give you a basic introduction to Golang from the perspective of a Java developer, specifically touching on the possibilities and limitations of OOP in Go, defensive programming techniques, but also some of the unique features where Go has a distinct advantage over Java.

To participate you will need a laptop with the latest Go version installed (https://go.dev/doc/install, opens an external URL in a new window) and a code editor, such as Goland, VS Code, or Vim.
