Short title: DigiMain 4.0

Long title: Empowering Digital and Technical Robotics Skills of Maintenance Workforce 4.0

Sponsors: EIT Manufacturing (body of European Union)

Assignment to our (IMW) research priorities:

  • Maintenance Systems
  • Digital World of Works
  • Sustainable Cyber-Physical Production Systems
  • Human-Robot Interaction
  • Digital Assistance Systems
  • Digital Learning

Duration: 01.01.2021-31.12.2021

Abstract:

Introducing collaborative robots (cobots) for future production requires considering full life cycle of these robots. Many industrial end-users have dedicated maintenance and service teams to employ new technologies. However, introducing and maintaining cobots in smart manufacturing requires specific advanced robotics skills, which are missing in re-/upskilling offers for professionals, especially in maintenance management.
DigiMain 4.0 is a training-oriented projected which introduces a work-based training program for maintenance professionals, provides a mobile demonstration of a maintenance use-case enhanced by a cobot and digital learning material in order to fully leverage potentials of cobots in production systems of the future.

Results:

DigiMain 4.0 provides digital learning material for maintenance professionals on the use of cobots for maintenance tasks. The learning material is prepared in form of learning nuggets and presented on Guided Learning Platform (GLP) of EIT Manufacturing.
Further, the consortium provides work-based training courses on collaborative robots in maintenance that are facilitated by mobile demonstrators to promote hands-on learning. Last but not least, DigiMain 4.0 develops didactical concepts and robotics lessons in maintenance-focused human-robot shared workspaces.
