Abstract:

Employees with disabilities (EWD) are an important, but severely underrepresented part of the labor market. More than 1.3 million Austrians (18.4% of the population) have a functional disability. Some of them acquire these disabilities during their professional years, which typically span from 16 to 65 years of age. Especially in blue-collar jobs, EWD are neglected. The aim of the joint project between myAbility and the Vienna University of Technology is to acquire a research project on the topic of inclusion assessment of workplaces and thus to show industrial companies in particular concrete potential for improvement in blue-collar jobs. The project contributes to the inclusion of EWD in employment. The result of the project is a model for evaluating and improving inclusion in production workplaces, which expands myAbility's service portfolio. The research partnership will be expanded with leading industrial and manufacturing companies to enable the integration of EWD into existing and new work systems.

Results:

  • Development of an assessment model for inclusion in the workplace
  • Establishment of a consortium for a joint submission
  • Proposal submission
