ESA just published the first impressive images of the Biomass satellite mission, opens an external URL in a new window, which is managed by our former colleague and GEO alumnus Klaus Scipal. The aim of the mission is to survey the forests on Earth. A similar goal on a different scale and with a different approach is at the heart of IIASA's citizen science project Tree-Quest, opens an external URL in a new window - lead by our former colleague and alumnus Milutin Milenkovic.
