At the Vienna Climate Run, opens an external URL in a new window, the GEO Green Team not only achieved a great sporting performance, but also made a contribution to greater sustainability. With eight runners, they covered a total of 78 km, thereby protecting 78 m² of forest area around the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Dürrenstein-Lassingtal Wilderness Area in Lower Austria/Styria. Together with Klimapartnerschaft.at, the forest area will be taken out of use for at least 80 years, thus preserving natural habitats.
