This online talk will explain the Austrian Science Fund’s (FWF) guidelines for Open Access that apply to all FWF-funded research projects. We will analyse relevant sections of the FWF Open Access Policy and use practical examples to get a clear picture of what the FWF requires from project leaders and project staff. Also, this talk will present the key points of the new FWF Open Access block grant, including what researchers need to know about funding support for their Open Access publications resulting from FWF research projects.

Some of the questions that will be addressed are:

  • What exactly are the FWF requirements for projects?
  • How does the workflow for Open Access funding change because of the new Open Access block grant?
  • What can be funded by the Open Access block grant?
