On 11 November 2025, the exhibition “Weltverständnis?” by artist Olaf Osten opened at TU Wien Bibliothek as part of the VIENNA ART WEEK. The event began in the main entrance hall with a guided tour through the exhibition, continuing up the central staircase. Olaf Osten introduced his works, which examine the only partly controllable consequences of technological developments, the relationship between nature and technology, analogue and digital worlds, and questions of scientific scepticism.

Following the tour, a moderated panel discussion took place. Together with Dr Helga Nowotny, Univ.-Prof. Dr Norbert Pfeifer and Univ.-Prof. Dr Agathe Robisson, the discussion explored perspectives from geoinformation, civil engineering, art, and data science, focussing on scientific responsibility and trust in science.

The exhibition is part of the Vienna Art Week theme LEARNING SYSTEMS and reflects on how technological developments shape our understanding of the world. With this event, TU Wien Bibliothek highlights its role in creating spaces for reflection, interdisciplinary exchange, and critical engagement.

The exhibition “Weltverständnis?” is on view in the Main Library, Resselgasse 4, until 13 March 2026.
