Astrid Krisch, a project associate at TU Wien since 2021, has specialised in her research on various topics in the context of urban development and planning. In particular, she has worked on infrastructure research, urban development and planning policy, socio-ecological transformation and discursive institutionalism.

Astrid Krisch studied spatial planning at TU Wien and researched the planning and development of established as well as emerging urban infrastructure systems at the intersection of planning research, urban studies, critical infrastructure research and health policy. At the SRF she worked on socio-ecological transformations, climate change research, urban and regional development policy and experimental approaches in climate governance. She is co-founder of the  Competence Centre for Everyday Economics, opens an external URL in a new window. More recently, she was part of the SIAMESE projects, opens in new window, which was funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and under the Austrian Climate Research Programme (ACRP).

Astrid Krisch will now spend the next three years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation (GCHU) at Kellogg College. She will work intensively on the topic of sustainable urban development and healthy cities and support the work of the Commission on Creating Healthy Cities. With her research, she will contribute to expanding the evidence base for the Healthy Cities Toolkit in ongoing and future research projects.
