The connection between climate change and freight transport

Despite climate change and global warming, many tonnes of raw materials and goods continue to be driven across the European continent every day in millions of lorry journeys. The vehicles are usually powered by climate-damaging diesel fuel. Yet many of these journeys could be replaced by transport by rail.
