As part of the excursion, central stations of modern urban development and architecture in the cities of Zlín and Brno were visited.

In Zlín, the focus was initially on Building 21, opens an external URL in a new window - a former administrative building of the Baťa works and today the seat of the city's planning department. The guided tour offers an insight into the functionalist urban structure of Zlín, which was significantly shaped by the industrial history and visions of Tomáš Baťa. The program is complemented by a visit to the Tomáš Baťa Memorial, opens an external URL in a new window, a key work of Czech functionalism.

The second part of the excursion takes place in Brno. Here, the program includes a guided tour of the Brno Trade Fairs site, opens an external URL in a new window, which is considered an important example of modern trade fair architecture. This will be followed by a specialist lecture at KAM Brno, opens an external URL in a new window, the municipal center for architecture and urban planning, with insights into current urban planning strategies and projects. The tour concludes with a visit to Villa Tugendhat, opens an external URL in a new window, a work of classical modernism by Mies van der Rohe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
