Since January 2022, the Simlab and partner institutions are working on M-DAB2: Material intensity of inward development – resource assessment and localization of urban development potentials with the aim of quantifying material requirements of different inward development variants in the city of Vienna.

With open questions in mind, the 2nd stakeholder workshop was being held in the Climate Lab on June 29, where intermediate project results were discussed with experts in the fields of urban planning, real estate development, materials management and circular economy. After a brief presentation of web-based data visualizations that are being developed as part of the project, a world café setting offered opportunities for feedback, suggestions and explanations. Collective inputs of our interdisciplinary attendees regarding data, applications and visualization methods form the basis for further work on M-DAB2.

We thank all project partners and attendees for sharing their thoughts and ideas as well as Climate Lab, opens an external URL in a new window for hosting this insightful workshop!
