In early March, we had the pleasure of organizing a two-day event at the ArcelorMittal Global R&D Maizières Campus as part of the Industrial Energy-Related Technologies and Systems (IETS TCP) Task XV Subtask 4 initiative, led by René Hofmann. The event began with a welcome and introduction, where participants were informed about the ongoing projects and initiatives of the task. This was followed by two interactive workshops focusing on process integration and industrial symbiosis, providing a platform for stimulating discussions and collaborative learning. Participants then had the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art research and development facilities at ArcelorMittal, gaining insights into the latest advancements in steel production. The day concluded with a dinner in Metz, fostering interesting conversations and informal networking among the participants.

The second day started with a visit to the ArcelorMittal industrial site at ArcelorMittal Long Products Luxembourg Belval. Participants toured the steel shop and hot rolling areas, experiencing the steelmaking process firsthand. The event ended with a lunch in Belval City, where final feedback was shared, reflecting on the productive and enriching experience.
