Problems activating Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 - solved

There are currently issues with activating Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 on Windows computers.

Due to an error in the Microsoft Office Installer from November 2024, incorrect license keys were stored on Windows computers, which have recently expired. As a result, activations of Ms Office 2024 LTSC are currently failing. We are working on a one-click fix. We will report back as soon as it has been successfully tested.

Mac computers are not affected; computers maintained by CIT are managed centrally by us (no intervention necessary).

Solution

To solve the problem, proceed as follows:

Download the ‘Office 2024 Preview Fix’ app using the TUtoolbox (selected by default).
Then launch the ‘Office 2024 Preview Fix’ app (within the TUtoolbox folder on the desktop) and follow the instructions.
Activate Office LTSC as usual (at least version 2.1.0.7 of the activation script, which is automatically upgraded when TUtoolbox is run).
