Learning Under Tension – Site Visit to a Prestressed Bridge

On June 2, 2025, we visited the construction site of the new prestressed concrete bridge near the Ast Seestadt West, crossing the ÖBB and Wiener Linien tracks, as part of the Concrete Structures 2 course.

It was a great opportunity to get a close-up look at prestressed concrete construction and see how our theoretical knowledge translates into practice — including tendons, strands, ducts, fixed and stressing anchorages, hydraulic jacks, formwork and reinforcement work and much more.
