During the conference week, almost 1,200 urban planning experts from over 55 countries took part in thematic sessions, roundtable discussions, lectures and excursions centred around the topic "Game changer? Planning for equitable and sustainable urban regions". This congress was the largest in the history of AESOP.
Our colleague Thomas Dillinger is an active member of the AESOP community. From 2010 to 2019, he was Austria's national representative in the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP). He was elected President of AESOP for the period from 2021 to 2024. We congratulate our colleagues on a successful congress!
The AESOP congress at Sciences Po was characterised by the close link between urban planning and political science in order to critically examine territorial transformations and the green transition - key issues for the future of European societies. The congress provided a platform for urban planners, sociologists, political scientists and geographers to exchange research findings.
The next ASEOP Congress will take place in 2025 at Istanbul Yıldız Technical University.
