“Introducing a Test Facility for Supercritical CO2 based Mixtures: Advancing Research on High-Efficiency Power Generation“
When: June 1st 2023
Where: TU Wien, Science Center, Franz-Grill-Straße 2-4, Geb. OA, 1030 Wien, AUSTRIA
Supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2)-based power plant processes offer remarkably higher power density and efficiency compared to current state-of-the-art processes. Such processes enable significantly more compact and less complex individual components. This reduced complexity not only lowers investment costs, but also supports sustainable power generation by enabling more flexible integration of renewable and secondary heat sources.
Completed in April 2023, the test plant is now ready to confirm the theoretical calculations of the SCARABEUS research project with real measured data. In addition to the presentation of the project and the tour of the test site, presentations from research and industry complement.
