TU Partner Meeting in the Austria Pavilion

As part of our stay in Japan, JASEC organised a partner meeting between TU Wien and our Japanese partner institutions on 19 May 2025 in the Austrian pavilion at the EXPO2025 world exhibition in Osaka. The event provided an ideal platform for international dialogue and networking - over 50 guests from 17 different institutions accepted the invitation.

In addition to many familiar faces, new contacts were also made and potential future collaborations were initiated. The Austrian pavilion provided an impressive backdrop for this, combining innovation, research and intercultural dialogue in a special way.

The hosts included Peter Ertel, Vice-Rector for Science and Research at TU Wien, Iris Mach, Head of JASEC, and Marko Mihovilovic, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry. A special item on the programme was the speech by former Japanese Ambassador Ryuta Mizuuchi, who emphasised the importance of scientific cooperation between Austria and Japan.

Several TU Wien projects that will be presented at EXPO2025 were also introduced during the meeting. These were met with great interest by the guests and offered an exciting insight into current research topics and technological developments at TU Wien.
