The Horizon research project TRACE, opens an external URL in a new window is developing an intelligent roof platform to bundle individual delivery processes. Although the platform itself is not visible on the road, the autonomous delivery vehicles it controls are. In mid-October, a test of a delivery robot (SADR – Sidewalk Automated Delivery Robot) took place in the BTC Area in Ljubljana.
One of MOVE's roles within the consortium was to create GIS models to assess the suitability of the chosen test areas for autonomous vehicles. During the on-site test in Ljubljana, checklists were used to collect information on infrastructure and the behaviour of both the delivery robot and pedestrians. This information will subsequently be processed and used to improve the GIS models.
