PhD Workshop - Science and Practice in Transformation

The third workshop for the doctoral program X³ - Expanding Excellence by Experiment - took place on 13 May.

Together with six guests from planning practice, four doctoral students in spatial planning discussed cooperation between science and practice: How can practically effective research be promoted? What structures are needed to enable constructive collaboration between academic and practical expertise? And what transformative skills are needed for this?

These and more questions were discussed from a wide range of perspectives, with many exciting insights into the cooperation between science and practice being shared and ideas for a sustainable transformation exchanged.

The workshop was coordinated by Johannes Suitner from SRF and Margarete Haderer from the Sociology Research Unit. The X³ project is funded by the future.lab of TU Wien as part of the EXCITE program.
