The 2025 edition of the Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems' Annual Symposium was once again an inspiring and outstanding event!
The two-day varied programme comprised oral and poster presentations from PhD candidates in the fields of hydrology, hydraulics, groundwater modelling, water quality and health, a workshop on proposal writing held by Gunter Bloschl, intense networking and even a tour boat with lunch on the Lake Neusiedl. 
It was a motivation boost for both students and supervisors and our team was glad to join with Ottavia Zoboli, Nikolaus Weber and Meiqi Liu.
We would like to thank the two students who organised this year's symposium: Dušan Marjanović and Kingsley Obinna Eze, as well as the external Advisory Board (Pete Loucks, Anicet Blanch and Suzanne Hulscher), who provided valuable and constructive contributions during the whole event.
