FWF Stand-Alone Projects & International Programmes: Objectives and Differences

Stand-Alone projects are the most important and most attractive FWF funding scheme. Short processing times and a high flexibility are two of the advantages. Applications for international projects are structured in a similar way.However, there are subtle differences which can be the difference between acceptance and rejection.

TU Wien’s Funding Support offers training courses where you get information about Dos and Don’ts focusing on proposal preparation. Successful TU Wien researchers will share their experiences, too.

Stand-Alone projects, öffnet eine externe URL in einem neuen Fenster are the most important and most attractive FWF funding scheme. In 2019, the success rate was 28,3%. For international projects, öffnet eine externe URL in einem neuen Fenster it was 25,3% and therefore even lower. Our central proposition is, given FWF's budgetary situation, that already minor shortcomings in the non-scientific parts can trigger a rejection. One intention of this webinar is therefore to sensitise applicants from TUW within this respects and to advertise our support portfolio.

The webinar will have four main goals:

  • Introduction of the programs
  • A detailed discussion of FWF's decision process
  • Discussion of program goals and reviewer questions and the implications for proposal writing.
  • Testimonials of successful and experienced applicants
