ABOUT THE TALK

 

As part of her PHD in Mathematics and Statistics at TU Wien, Nermina developed a new AI powered technology to validate streaming data and detect anomalies, such as underpayment or fake plays. Due to its novelty and innovation, the technology developed by Nermina was patented. With this disruptive technology, Legitary, founded in 2019, wants to bring more fairness and transparency to streaming and the startup has already analyzed well over 150 billion streams and is currently used by labels, auditors and M&A teams.

 

In this talk, Nermina will share her inspiring journey, the challenges and learnings as founder and CEO of Legitary; from developing the disrupting AI powered technology used by the startup, hiring the first employee and managing the business to Legitary’s expansion in the US market.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER Nermina Mumic is CEO & Founder of Legitary, a music-tech startup to verify and audit streaming data. With Legitary, Nermina won the world’s leading music startup competition Midemlab and aims to bring more transparency to the music industry. She is a Global Shaper at WEF and Forbes 30under30. Nermina iNermina has a background as data scientist, she graduated with honors from Vienna University of Technology with a master's degree in Technical Mathematics. Following her work in a global IT consulting company she pursues a PhD in Technical Mathematics, where she does research on Robust Statistics and founded Legitary as TU Vienna spin-off. ABOUT THE FOUNDER & INVESTOR TALK SERIES The Founder & Investor Talks, organized by the Innovation Incubation Center (i²c) at TU Wien, enable the audience to learn firsthand from experienced founders, investors and innovators, and get inspired by their success (and failure) stories.
