Basics in Proposal Writing for National Funding Programmes
Seminar
The creation of a grant application is a challenging and time-consuming task. Due to limited funding budgets, the success rates are often below 30% and the grant proposal competes with many other project submissions. Moreover, a vast number of different funding programmes differing in very specific criteria and rules exist even on national level.
The objective of this 3-afternoons-training is to impart basic principles of research funding programmes
by giving an overview of major national funding schemes,
by presenting TUW internal directives and support,
by discussing the different parts of an application as well as the reviewing process and most common evaluation criteria.
September 23rd, 1pm-5pm: Module 1 (obligatory!): Need to know (Elisabeth Schludermann, Astrid Stakne)
September 29th, 1pm-5pm: Module 2: Basic research funding (Christian Maszl-Kantner, Elisabeth Schludermann)
September 30th: 1pm-5pm Module 3: Applied research funding (Astrid Stakne, Franz Sümecz)
Non-Goal: Writing a proposal during the seminar
Target group: TUW researchers, planning to submit their (first) national funding proposal
Methods: Presentations, group work, discussions, Q&A
