From Admission Requirements to a secure spot in the Program - your five essential steps
In this section, you'll learn how to successfully apply for your desired program at TU Wien Academy and what admission requirements you must meet. Follow our step-by-step guide and secure your spot in your selected program.

No specific university degree is required for our compact programs. Please check the respective program page directly for any recommended requirements (e.g., prior professional experience in the relevant field).
Overview & important steps
► Step 1: Check the requirements Make sure you meet the specific requirements of your program (see below - Section 1, “Admission Requirements”).
► Step 2: Start our Online Admission Go to our application portal and fill out our Online-Form.
► Step 3: Submit your documents Please upload all required documents or - alternatively - email them to our program team directly.
► Step 4: Admission interview After reviewing your application documents, you will receive an invitation to on-site or virtual admissions interview with the program directors.
► Step 5: Confirmation of Admission Once you have received confirmation, please transfer the deposit to secure your spot.
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
Proof of language proficiency: German B2 or English TOEFL 90 / IELTS 6.5
A degree taught in English
CPE
IELTS test (minimum 7.0) or
TOEFL test (minimum 627 points [paper-based], 263 points [computer-based] or 106 points [internet-based]).
An internationally recognised first academic degree and basic knowledge in the following subjects:
Administrative law and administrative procedure law
Civil law
Trade law and the law of the liberal professions
Tax, fee and levy law
Labour and social law
Economics
General business administration
Commercial, corporate and competition law
Contract, liability and consumer protection law
General university entrance qualification for an Austrian university or university of applied sciences (Matura) or an equivalent qualification.
In exceptional cases, applicants with extensive relevant professional experience may be admitted following an admission interview with the programme management – possibly combined with an entrance test.
Admission to the individual modules is based on the qualifications submitted. One of the following requirements must be met:
A completed degree in a relevant field (e.g. architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, spatial planning or related disciplines).
A degree from a higher technical college or an academic secondary school (Matura) plus at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
A completed master craftsman’s examination in a construction-related trade (e.g. bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing and building services).
A completed property developer examination or equivalent professional qualification examinations (e.g. technical office / engineering consultancy)
The decision on admission is made by the academic programme directors on the basis of the qualifications submitted.
In individual cases, applicants who have acquired a comparable qualification through their professional activity, experience and achievements may also be admitted. For the MEng, a completed bachelor’s degree must be provided in any case.
