Analysis of the impact of an inner-city shopping centre on a neighbouring shopping street
The City of Vienna is planning a multifunctional district centre (retail, workplaces, leisure) on a 20,000m² part of the Ottakringer Brewery site. In the course of this project, the construction of a shopping centre (EKZ) is planned. As a side effect of the increased customer frequency, many expect a strengthening of the neighbouring Thaliastraße as a shopping street. The aim of the proposed project is to analyse the economic and traffic impacts of these projects on the immediate surroundings and in particular on the retail businesses on Thaliastrasse.
