On September 17 the Dragon Boat Cup 2018 of the TU Wien alumni club finally took place at the Alte Donau. It was a sunny day as nine teams paddled for victory in several runs.

The team CEC Alumni – Connected for Life consisted of alumni of six different postgraduate programs as well as members of the CEC team. Under the competent guidance of our alumna Sigrid Lüftl – a trained dragon boat teacher – all team members gave their best and achieved the ninth place. Given the fact that a training had not been possible because of the heterogeneous composition of the team, it was really a great performance. Congratulations!

In any case, the dragon boat race was a unique experience for all participants and everybody had a lot of fun. Our alumnus Thomas Greiner summarized it like this: “It was a great experience for me to take part in the dragon boat race at the Alte Donau as a member of the team CEC Alumni. Before and after the runs there were plenty of possibilities to get to know interesting alumni or colleagues from the CEC. When we concluded the evening with a buffet I – and also many others – decided: We would love to participate again next year!”
